Dental
Implants
Dental implants are used to replace missing teeth and provide
an alternative treatment option to a bridge. Dental implants
are metal posts made from titanium that are surgically placed
beneath your gums. Because implants fuse to the jawbone, they
offer greater stability and comfort than conventional bridges
or dentures.
It is important that meticulous oral hygiene and regular dental
visits be maintained to insure the long-term success of the
implant procedure. Certain chronic diseases like diabetes;
osteoporosis or chronic sinus problems can interfere with
the healing process and prevent the implant from properly
fusing to the bone.
The entire procedure can take four to six months to complete
and typically involves more than one surgical appointment.
Our specialist will do a thorough evaluation to determine
whether implants are right for you. |
